In this role, you will Represents Supply Planning at the Demand Review meeting as part of the S&OP process. Drive improvement of supply assumptions exception management and root cause analysis to identify deviations and issues for the long-term planning and MPS processes. Lead the Supply Review meeting as part of the S&OP process.
The Supply Planner works directly with key Divisional Sales Leaders, Divisional Marketing Leaders, Divisional Finance Leaders, Manufacturing Plants and R & D representatives to develop and execute a sourcing & manufacturing planning strategy to meet customer needs & drive company growth. S/he will work with various functions for new product introductions, acquisition integrations, SKU reductions, and will manage several direct reporting planners with responsibility for achieving service & inventory objectives.
What You Will Do:
•Manage, train and coach planning team to drive continuous improvement of the supply planning process and manage PP&D process for direct reports.
•Identify and implement best practices to improve results for identified reporting metrics. Work with appropriate groups to improve inputs to the process and ongoing continuous improvement.
•Lead the Supply Review Meeting as part of the S&OP process.
•Represent Supply Planning at the Demand Review Meeting as part of the S&OP process.
•Manage the supply/demand balance in collaboration with the Demand Planner, when there is abnormal demand, when supply issues arise and when customer requirements are truly outside the capability of the supply chain to deliver.
•Drive improvement of supply assumptions, exception management and root cause analysis to identify deviations and issues for the long-term planning and MPS processes.
•Monitor the supply plan performance (MPS feasibility, schedule adherence) by measuring actual versus planned performance at multiple planning levels and work with planners to improve.
•Manage area of accountability to achieve KPIs as part of the OGSM management process.
•Represents Supply Chain in product introductions or acquisition integrations. Maintains clear communication & close co-operation with internal & external contacts. Meets regularly with Division on forecasts, production introductions, acquisitions, & SKU reduction process. Works with Quality, R&D, Division, and Customers to avoid & resolve quality & service issues. Participates in Divisional management meetings as the Supply Chain subject matter expert. Provides formal & informal reporting on service & inventory. Provides basic financial analysis and cost estimates for new production.
•Provides management with ideas on how to maximize service performance and minimize inventory investment.
•Evaluates product sourcing networks & vendors to ensure best service & quality at a competitive price. Establishes annual service & cost targets.
•Develops yearly volume budgeting process for respective Divisions. Ensures integration of new product development and SKU rationalization plans into the annual volume budget process.
•Establishes annual high-level manufacturing plans for internal plants & co-packers. Ensures plans are created with respect to plant manufacturing capacities & in a manner that optimizes divisional cost, service, & quality.
•Ensures products are available to meet or exceed service, quality & cost objectives. Responds to changing Customer & business needs. Resolves inventory, service & cost issues working with Plants, Divisions, & R&D. Adjusts sourcing plans based on Division needs & plants’ manufacturing capabilities.
•Optimizes inventory levels and actively drives initiatives to reduce FG and RM DOH inventory. Actively manages and champions At-Risk inventory processes to reach year over year reductions.
•Place and expedite Purchase Orders on required Finished goods Items
•Other duties and projects as required.
•Candidate must reside in Johannesburg.
•Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Logistics or related
•Strong Computer literacy, including CAS with knowledge of MRP/MPS
•Minimum of 5 to 7 years of Supply Chain experience with significant experience in Planning, Logistics or Manufacturing.
•Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience
•Experience with the financial measurements of Supply Chain or Supply Chain Finance
•Advanced technical or business degree
•Experience in Production Supervision
•Demonstrated leadership, communication, analytical, tactical & strategic thinking skills
