JOB TITLE: Marketing Manager

JOB DUTIES: Marketing Manager for Nalco Company LLC at its facility in Sugar Land, TX. Responsible for one or more product lines with complexity in scope &/or size. Lead the innovation process, having project management responsibility for multiple innovation projects. Execute Portfolio Management, Product Lifecycle, Digital Strategy, and some Brand Management within our Refinery group. Actively drive Portfolio Management (Globally), contribute to the strategic and operational planning process for assigned product line, partners with finance to complete pricing analysis, executes plans to improve profitability. Manage Product Lifecycle, optimize product portfolio, monitor & communicate product line profitability and lifecycle metrics, evaluate products for competitive decisions, provide gatekeeping efforts around product proliferation and assist with supply chain optimization. Work with RD&E and key sales/ITC stakeholders on prioritizing projects based on market need and resources available. Complete innovation projects from discovery through commercialization. Identify field trial opportunities and facilitate the trials while also communicating key Phase Gate milestones with key stakeholders, Establish product specs, definitions, and performance criteria, and develop sales training on new products. Use VOC/VOB to drive value added digital solutions. Articulate the differentiation of Downstream’s digital solutions from competitive offerings. Propose business models and/or pricing strategies for digital offerings. Provide appropriate internal communications by ensuring the Sales teams have the latest specific application sales collateral to facilitate new technology adoption. Work with Marketing Communication on collateral in support of launches such as published technical articles, industry conference presentations, case histories, product bulletins, etc.
REQUIREMENTS: Requires a MBA and two (2) years of post-bachelor’s progressive experience in all of the following: Business to business marketing experience working with a marketing team and salesforce to reach customers in the refining market segment; Managing business segment P&L and implementing margin enhancement activities for a business greater than $35M in sales; Developing and supporting strategic marketing plans for a business to business product and service program, developing customer value propositions and creating associated sales materials; Leading global cross-functional teams to manage an innovation portfolio > $50M in the Refining market space utilizing a Phase Gate Management process; Developing competitive analyses, assessing competitors’ value propositions and identifying innovation opportunities; Performing market segmentation, targeting and positioning activities; Using Power BI dashboards to drive actionable insights. 10-15% Global Travel Required
