Ecolab is seeking candidates for a Marketing Manager to support the Commercial/Facilities business within our HHC/Institutional Division(Hospitality, Healthcare & Commercial). Candidates will demonstrate proven success in the following core marketing communications competencies: analysis & insights, developing effective and efficient marketing strategies & tactics, driving growth & innovation strategy and execution, leading P&L/portfolio management, brand building, and developing and building marketing talent.
The person will:
- Manage the marketing activities for one or more product lines/categories or programs
- Lead innovation teams and own Phase Gate process to drive innovation for portfolio
- Develop both short and long-term strategies
- Through customer and competitive insights, drive strategy into tactical execution
- Act as a champion to the Ecolab brand and delivery of the Ecolab experience
Main Responsibilities
- Develop marketing strategies, customer value propositions, promotional programs and pricing which will meet sales and profit objectives assigned product lines
- Manage assessment of current program/service offerings against key customer requirements and competitive offerings
- Innovate and lead development of compelling and differentiated new product/program/service offerings for assigned business segments
- Identify new product ideas for the business unit through existing customers, research, and industry contacts
- Lead the new product development process by representing the needs of the customers. Coordinate efforts with manufacturing, technical services, R&D, quality assurance, and purchasing
- Assist Sales and Corporate Accounts teams in the identification of new contract opportunities and the maintenance of existing contracts, including travel to these organizations to conduct product presentations
- Develop and implement a product launch plan for new products to include initial forecast, sales training, promotional literature and other programs as needed
- Develop training programs and training documents to improve the overall product knowledge of the sales representatives
- Develop pricing levels and manage all pricing approvals for the defined product categories within the business unit with the goal of maintaining or increasing product gross profit each year
- Review monthly forecasts for the products being managed and make adjustments where necessary to reflect anticipated changes in demand due to new or lost business, sales promotions, changes in market conditions, or new product launches
- Develop promotion plans to increase sales of existing product categories, including literature, direct mail, advertising, trade shows, and sales promotions. Coordinate with the marketing communications department to approve the design and production of promotional material
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 6+ years of marketing/professional experience
Preferred Qualifications::
- MBA or Masters degree
- Business-to-business marketing experience
- Ability to collaborate and get results from a matrixed sales force
- Ability to take initiative and work with minimal direction
- Excellent problem solving and quantitative analysis skills
- Project management
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience managing complex business problems
- Strong organizational, negotiation and project management skills
- A successful track record of working effectively with a sales force must also complement strong relationship-building skills
